Ikeja Electric wishes to notify its esteemed customers that there will be a planned outage on Feeder 2 33kV Feeder to enable our technical crew carry out maintenance work on the feeder, as follows:

Date: Saturday, 19th January 2019,

Time: 11:00hrs – 15:00hrs

Duration: 4 Hours

Affected Feeders: 11-Adeniyi JonesINJ-T1-Ajao, 11-Adeniyi JonesINJ-T1-Adeniyi Jones, U Steel 33kV and PTC Express.

Ikeja Electric Cautions Public Against Activities Around Power Lines

…Restates Commitment To Safety of Lives and Property

Lagos, Nigeria, January 17, 2019: In a renewed commitment to its high safety standards, Nigeria’s leading electricity distribution company, Ikeja Electric Plc (IE), has cautioned the public under its network against building structures and engaging in social and economic activities under power lines.

The company said the specific clearance/distance which the public must maintain away from a 33/11KV lines is 5.5 meters (20ft) on both sides, while for 132KV lines the distance must be 15 meters (50ft) on both sides and 330KV lines must have a clearance of 25meters (60ft) on both sides. (more…)

Ikeja Electric Expands Network For Improved Service Delivery, Commences E-Pole Tagging Project

A convenient method aimed at improving efficiency in the distribution of electricity and services to IE’s esteemed customers has been unveiled by the Technical Services Department.

The project named E-Pole (Electric Pole) tagging, will enable IE track work and maintenance on 11KV and 33KV high tension poles electronically with QR code stickers. (more…)

 In what seems to be an affirmation of IE’s overall brand improvement, Nigeria’s leading disco has retained its top 100 spot in the recently released Best 100 Companies to Work For in 2018 List.

The annual ranking, published by ace recruitment agency Jobberman, is compiled based on “job satisfaction, employee happiness, career growth prospects, work-life balance and other relevant metrics as voted for by employees and career professionals”. (more…)

Ikeja Electric’s QHSE Department Unveils 2019 Slogan

Buoyed by its commitment to ensure safety and wellbeing of both employees, customers and the general public alike, the QHSE Department of Ikeja Electric led by Engr Jamiu Badmos has unveiled its Mission Slogan for 2019. The slogan, “Mission Zero-Take Ownership”, was recently unveiled as a rallying cry for all stakeholders to take responsibility in ensuring that the network recording zero fatality in 2019.

Speaking on this, Engr Jamiu Badmos said there would be zero tolerance for acts of carelessness, especially with regard to technical field teams who he urged to maintain 100% compliance with regulations, from PPE kit to operational guidelines in the field. He noted that each employee’s life is a treasure trove of value which should not be wasted due to careless actions. (more…)

Unveils “The Misadventures of Papa Ese”

As part of its efforts to effectively educate and enlighten customers on top burner issues relating to its business, Ikeja Electric has introduced dramatized messaging, unveiling a new drama series known as “The Misadventures of Papa Ese”.

The series which will broadcast on IE’s social media channels will speak to issues relating to staff assault, collection of receipt after payment, vacant apartment and other related matters. (more…)

The news of the recent death of the customer following an electrocution incident a few weeks ago was received with deep sadness, especially as we had hoped that medical efforts to aid her recovery would yield positive results.

Yuletide: Ikeja Electric Expands Network Maintenance to Ensure Stable Supply

Lagos, Nigeria; December 19, 2018: In a move to ensure customers have an enjoyable Yuletide, the management of Ikeja Electric (IE) has announced the expansion of network patrol teams and field operations preemptive maintenance across its network.

The move, which will see various installations undergo preemptive maintenance work, as well as increased number of patrol teams to ensure swift repair of faults was confirmed in a statement released by Head, Corporate Communications of IE, Felix Ofulue. (more…)

IE Refutes Unverified Stories on Electrocution

Following unverified reports that an IE Technical Staff lost his life while on duty around our Ijegun Ikotun network area and the subsequent spread of this news online, Ikeja Electric will like to state clearly that our employee did suffer electric shock while on duty but is alive, thankfully and responding to treatment. Lagos, Nigeria; December 3, 2018: Nigeria’s leading Electricity Distribution Company, Ikeja Electric Plc (IE), has won this year’s edition of SERAS Innovation Prize at the SERAS Awards held last Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
