“ALWAYS COLLECT RECEIPTS” Ikeja Electric Urges Customers

Lagos Nigeria; 9 February, 2017:  Ikeja Electric Plc, Nigeria’s largest distribution company has called on all customers to ensure they collect receipts for payments made when purchasing energy.

In a statement released by the company, the Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Felix Ofulue, noted that the issued receipt was the only evidence of payment which was admissible in resolution of payment discrepancy issues. Speaking further, Ofulue urged customers to exercise caution when making payments, warning that some unscrupulous agents pretending to assist the customer load their cards have been known to divert payments, claiming that technical issues prevented them from issuing receipts.

“To avoid getting ripped off, it is advisable that customers learn how to load their cards themselves. The process is quite user friendly,” Ofulue concluded.

Steps for loading the cards.

Step 1 – Purchase an IE Voucher at any of our numerous agents

Step 2 – Scratch off the silver panel to reveal the pin

Step 3 – * Prepaid Customers- Send SMS to 20052 (i.e RC METER NUMBER RECHARGE PIN)

* Postpaid Customers – Send SMS to 20052 (i.e RC ACCOUNT NUMBER RECHARGE PIN)

Step 4 – You will receive a confirmation text message. Prepaid Customers will receive a token which will be entered on your meter.
