Technical Hub Operations Commence In Shomolu Business Unit

…As Ikeja Electric Unveils New Approach To Fault Maintenance & Management

Ikeja Electric, Nigeria’s leading electricity distribution company has recorded another milestone in its quest to deliver improved services to its customers with the launch of a modern Technical Hub and Control Center.

The strategy, which houses the maintenance/technical teams and control center to ensure accelerated response to faults and downtime issues was recently piloted in Shomolu Network Area successfully.

Speaking on the development, Head Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue said, “The new arrangement as approved by Management is very strategic. The idea is to separate fault clearing teams from other operational roles and monitor performance, ensuring that they focus absolutely on rapid fault clearing activities.  The teams will now report to a Hub Manager whose appraisal will revolve around turnaround time and fault clearing indicators to ensure that customers get improved services”.

“We have also enabled the teams with our i-Force android application to guide intelligent resolution of faults which also will be treated as they are logged on our CRM platforms. We have tested it already and the results are quite impressive. We intend to roll this out at all our locations shortly”, Ofulue added.

The hub arrangement will see the merger of Ogudu, Mende and Ketu technical units under the new Ogudu Technical Hub, while Magodo, Ikosi and Olowoira  teams will be housed under the new Magodo Technical Hub. Similarly, Oworo, Bariga, Olateju , Ilupeju and Igbobi will now operate from the Oworo Technical Hub.
