Amikanle, Abule Taylor And Environs Get Lifeline

…Receives 12.1 MW Additional Supply From Two 15MVA NIP Project

Commercial activities around Amikanle and Abule Taylor, both in Alimosho Local Government Area, may soon receive a boost as Ikeja Electric recently took over two 15MVA, 33/11KV capacity transformers, each with a peak load of 7.7MW, which will inject about 12.1 MW into IE’s network from Ayobo transmission station.

The projects which were constructed by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) under the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) of the Federal Government were commissioned and handed over to Ikeja Disco on Tuesday 22nd of May, 2018.

Chiedu Ugbo, MD NDPHC, while inaugurating the projects said the two 15 MVA power injection substations would boost electricity supply to customers within Ikeja Disco and its environs. Ugbo said, “As from today, the residents within the Ikeja Disco and its environs would start benefiting from effective and efficient power supply. The substations  are currently serving Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within the community including banks, eateries, shopping plazas, roads sides shops, welders block industries as well as religious places of worship”.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Engr Sunday Oyewole, the Chief Technical Officer of Ikeja Electric, thanked Niger Delta Power Holding Company and the Federal Government for the assistance, committing to the careful management of the equipment to ensure that customers were adequately served.
