Ikeja Electric To Commence Complete Rehabilitation Of Maryland Injection Substation

Lagos, Nigeria: November 1, 2017: As part of her strategic effort to improve power supply to customers across its network, Ikeja Electric will be carrying out a complete rehabilitation of Maryland Injection Substation which will involve the replacement of obsolete Switch Gear Panels at the Switch room, between 3rd and 10th November, 2017.

The Company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue said that the rehabilitation exercise will affect power supply to Mende, Anthony, Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Shonibare Estate and part of Ojota, Ketu, Ikosi, Demurin and environs. Customers To Enjoy More Power Supply As IE Upgrades Ogudu Injection Substation

Ikeja Electric, Nigeria’s largest power distribution company, has spent over N150m to carry out major rehabilitation work at Ogudu Injection Substation, in a bid to improve power supply in its network, especially across Ojota, Ogudu, Soluyi, Gbagada, Alapere, Oriola and environs.

The Company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, said the rehabilitation became necessary as a result of frequent breakdown occasioned by obsolete equipment at the Injection Substation, which most times resulted to serious load shedding and power outages in the areas. (more…)

Ikeja Electric Launches “Journey to Sustainability” Report


Lagos Nigeria; January 23, 2017: Ikeja Electric PLC, Nigeria’s largest electricity distribution company has unveiled its maiden sustainability report titled “Building A Customer-Centric Business-Our Journey to Sustainability”.

The document, which was unveiled recently in line with global best practices, outlines important milestones in the journey of the company from November 1, 2013 when Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) Plc was officially handed over to New Electricity Distribution Company (NEDC), the preferred bidders, by the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) as part of the Federal Government’s power sector privatization program.
