Ikeja Electric wishes her esteemed customers a very Merry Christmas

During this festive season, IE urges all her customers to remain safety conscious at all times. Considering that the dry season is one where fires are likely to occur, customers are encouraged to exercise greater caution in and around their residences and offices, especially with regard to electrical appliances and fittings.

Ensure that your fire extinguisher is primed and working and when leaving, ensure ALL electrical appliances are switched off. Also please note the following security and safety tips:

1. Your Personal Security

Keep a low profile, avoid crime spots, late nights and unnecessary exposure!

2. Your Financial Transactions

Keep all information concerning financial transactions strictly confidential. Use alternative platforms and don’t carry much cash. Nylons or brown envelopes attract criminals even when you’re not carrying cash-so avoid carrying them. Finally, Use ATMs only in safe and well lit places

3. Your Travel Security

Discuss travel details only with immediate family members. Avoid night driving, and make less use of your high value cars that easily mark you out as a potential target. Stick to major routes and avoid lonely routes with bad roads and poor visibility. Finally, don’t give ride to strangers, including persons dressed in uniforms, as they may be criminals in disguise

4. Your Social Outings

Always let close family members be aware of your movements. Avoid late outings unless it is absolutely necessary (even then ensure you are accompanied). Unfortunately, security threats call for us to avoid crowded places as they are considered soft and easy targets.

5. Your Communication

Always take your mobile phone with you, in the event you need to make emergency calls. Ensure it is charged always. Use social media to keep a trail of your activities and locations. It helps!! Going out as a group? Ensure someone knows who you went out with and call or sms family at intervals just to check in!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
