Nigerian Society Of Engineers (NSE), Endorses Ikeja Electric’s Power Play Board Game

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Ikeja Branch has applauded Ikeja Electric Plc, Nigeria’s largest distribution company, for its commitment towards promoting the culture of safety among electricity consumers through their innovative Power Play Board Game.

Chairman of NSE, Ikeja Branch, Engr. Akintoye Akintola (FNSE),alongside other Executive Committee Members, received a delegation from Ikeja Electric who paid a courtesy visit to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Society.
Engr. Akintola while being presented with the Board Game gave kudos to the Management and staff of Ikeja Electric for creating an educative and entertaining platform to enlighten consumers and raise their consciousness of safety against electricity hazards.

He said: “On the celebration of our 25th Anniversary, we want to appreciate Ikeja Electric Plc, for celebrating with us and honoring us with the Power Play Board Game. It is unarguable that in educating people what is seen has much more effect than what is heard. So, with the Power Play game created by Ikeja Electric, people will be more aware of the benefits of taking precautionary measures against electricity hazards and at the same time see the consequences of neglecting safety measures.”

Speaking further, he noted that Branch members will use the game to inculcate habits that promote safety of lives and property among families and other professionals. Some of the Fellows of the NSE Ikeja Branch present during the visit were Engr. Amusu Idiat, Engr. Magaret Oguntola, and Engr. Francis Oguamanam.
In his comments, the Head, Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue congratulated the leadership of Ikeja Branch of the NSE, acknowledging the giant strides and how far they had come over the years. He stressed the importance the Management of Ikeja Electric placed on safety noting that the company was constantly striving to improve on best practice standards of safety across her network.

“Ours is a high risk sector and any careless act could easily lead to loss of life and property. This is why we continue to invest time and resources to innovate on new and enduring ways to sustain the message of health, safety and environment across our network and beyond”, he concluded.

Ikeja Electric recently launched her Target Zero campaign aimed at ensuring zero loss of life by following global best safety practices.
