The IE Safetainability School Convocation 2025 Cohort – April 10, 2026.

On Friday, April 10, 2026, we proudly celebrated a major milestone as the Ikeja Electric Safetainability School hosted its 2nd Convocation Ceremony. A huge congratulations to our 100 outstanding graduates and professionals who have shown remarkable dedication to safety, sustainability, and responsible leadership.

The IE Safetainability School is a professional safety and sustainability institute established under the Sahara Group Ltd, driven by the Ikeja Electric. It stands as a bold institutional statement; a commitment that building a sustainable organisation begins with developing the right people.

The school was established as a structured platform to equip the workforce across Sahara Group and its subsidiaries with the knowledge, mindset, and practical skills required to lead responsibly and make a meaningful impact. At its core, the IE Safetainability School exists to develop leaders who not only understand safety and sustainability, but who are deeply committed to applying these principles in ways that positively influence business excellence, communities, and the environment.

Designed as a comprehensive learning experience, the curriculum combines theory, practical insights, and real-life applications, ensuring that every graduate emerges as a purposeful champion of safe and sustainable practices within their sphere of influence.

The 2025 Academic session admitted 387 students who went through rigorous and structured learning by seasoned industry experts across diverse sectors, participated in practical group projects and wrote a proctored examination to establish transparency. In the end, 100 students graduated. The convocation was a celebration not only of academic accomplishment but of a shared vision that safety and sustainability are not merely compliance obligations, but the foundation upon which enduring organisations are built. Each graduate stands as a testament to what is possible when people are invested in with purpose and intentionality.

Aromasodu Adedayo Emmanuel distinguished himself as the Best Male Graduating Student, while Mbacha Jennifer emerged as the Best Female Graduating Student. Their outstanding performance reflects dedication, intellectual rigour, and a genuine passion for advancing safety and sustainability within their respective roles. The IE Safetainability School congratulates both awardees and holds them as exemplars for future cohorts.

According to, Engr. Olaniyi Olayiwola, the Chief Academic Officer, “The establishment and continued growth of the IE Safetainability School is a direct reflection of leadership that walks the talk. It takes genuine conviction — not just policy statements — to invest in building a school dedicated to safety and sustainability. The Board of Directors and the Leadership of Sahara Group Ltd and its Subsidiaries have demonstrated precisely that conviction, and their support has made this institution and its products a proud reality.

We also acknowledge the graduating class and the alumni for their commitment to learning and to the principles of responsible leadership is the living proof that this investment is bearing fruit. Also, to the administration team whose tireless dedication has brought this vision to life.”
