…Partners REPL In Delivering World Class Certification Program
As part of IE’s commitment to improve services to its valued customers and following Management’s approval for continuous training across the organization, the Learning and Development Unit of Ikeja Electric, in conjunction with REPL and Technical Services Department, has concluded a 2-day certification course for 24 selected cable jointers in Ikeja Electric.
The course, designed to equip cable jointers with the requisite knowledge and skill to achieve a joint with qualities as good as the original cable in both electrical and mechanical properties. The course, which comprised mainly a hands on approach with live demonstration sessions allowed the participants carry out cable jointing tasks in groups of six.
The program ended with an assessment on Day 2, by International Cable Jointers from REPL, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality heat shrink, cold shrink and pre-moulded cable accessories with presence in 4 Continents. The examiners, who arrived Nigeria for the certification program, issued successful participants with REPL Certified Cable Jointers certificates.
Speaking at the training session, Mr. Neville Kyme and Mr. Jehad Nasser, both expatriate assessors praised the participants for their determination and focus. Furthermore, the duo commended Ikeja Electric’s commitment to the continuous training and upskilling of its workforce, noting that Ikeja Electric was the first Disco in Nigeria to undergo this certification programme.
