Ikeja Electric Welcome Pupils Back to School in Lagos.

Lagos, Nigeria – January 30, 2025 – As part of its commitment to Personal Corporate Social Responsibility (PCSR), Ikeja Electric, Nigeria’s leading electricity distribution company, visited Karaole Primary School, Ifako-Ijaiye, and Fred Williams Memorial Primary School, Fagba, on January 28th and 29th, 2025, to welcome pupils back to school and promote electrical safety awareness.

The initiative aimed to educate young learners on the importance of staying safe around electricity and electrical appliances. Through an interactive and engaging session, the Ikeja Electric team introduced the “Electricity 5 ALIVE!” safety acronym, designed to instil critical safety habits in children:

A – Always be mindful that electricity can pose dangers.

L – Look and smell attentively for any electrical hazards.

I – If your hands are wet, refrain from touching any electrical appliances.

V – Value your safety above all else.

E – Ensure that any electrical issues are promptly reported to adults or parents, who can then notify the nearest Ikeja Electric office for assistance.

At Ikeja Electric, we believe that safety begins with awareness. By educating children early on about the potential hazards of electricity and how to stay safe, we are equipping them with essential knowledge that can prevent accidents and save lives.

Beyond safety education, Ikeja Electric continues to champion impactful PCSR activities that contribute to the well-being of the communities it serves. The company remains steadfast in its mission to deliver reliable power while ensuring that customers—especially the younger generation—understand the importance of electrical safety.
