Man Remanded In Kirikiri Maximum Prisons For Assaulting Ikeja Electric Staff

In a recent wave of clampdown on suspects of violent attacks on Ikeja Electric staff by Police Authorities, a middle-aged man, Abiodun Makinde has been arrested and arraigned before an Ogba Magistrate Court on charges of assault and breach of peace.

Abiodun Makinde, who was arrested after an intensive search was launched by the Police for beating up Oluwaseun Onate, a staff of Ikeja Electric for disconnecting his residence was arraigned on a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace at the Ogba Magistrate Court, Lagos.

Head, Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, while reacting to the judgement, said the decision to seek redress in court over series of attacks on the Company staff is to stem the menace of violence against its staff, a development he hoped will serve as a deterrent to other offenders against future re-occurrence.

“We consider this judgement a welcome development and a victory for peace loving and loyal customers of Ikeja Electric as well as the victims of these unnecessary attacks.”

Ofulue urged aggrieved customers to seek peaceful means of resolving issues and take advantage of customer redress mechanism established by the Company.
