Ikeja Electric Reinforces Commitment To Safety With Launch Of Power Play

Lagos, Nigeria: February 7, 2018: Ikeja Electric Plc (IE), Nigeria’s largest electricity distribution company, has taken its safety enlightenment campaign a notch higher with the unveiling of its proprietary board game tagged Power Play©.

The game, which is novel in the electricity industry is designed as an education and entertainment tool, which provides information relating to hazards and common violations as well as other operational aspects of the the use of electricity, to customers in IE network, in a family-friendly format. Youth Empowerment: Ikeja Electric Trains Youth On Entrepreneurship

Lagos, Nigeria: February 2, 2018: In demonstration of its commitment towards youth development in Nigeria, leading Electricity Distribution Company, Ikeja Electric Plc (IE), recently organized a youth empowerment programme to train 40 participants across its network.

The two-week vocational training was held at the Community Vocational Centre in Oshodi, Lagos and it provided a platform for the participants to hone their culinary and entrepreneurial skills, with a view to setting up small scale business.

In his statement, the company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, explained that the initiative is in line with the company’s Personal Corporate Social Responsibilities (PCSR) and it was designed to empower youth with entrepreneurial skills which will help reduce the level of unemployment across the country.

“At Ikeja Electric, we are deeply passionate about providing opportunities for Nigerian youths to hone their entrepreneurial skills through various platforms because we believe that there are millions of youth out there who need the right opportunities and support to develop. That is why we will continually strive to create the avenues for youth empowerment, “he said.

Ofulue described the project as one of the ways which Ikeja Electric continues to enrich lives of youth across its network in a bid to help them achieve their dreams and aspirations

In his words, “this initiative underscores our determination to enrich lives and contribute to humanity. We will continue to create robust platforms and opportunities to facilitate the dreams of our youth who have ambition to succeed as entrepreneurs among other things.

He further urged the participants to embrace the training as it will expose them to positive ideas that can transform their lives to become an ideal for other youths in the society to emulate.

Crowds Throng Ikeja Electric’s Medical Outreach

It was a beehive of activity as scores of residents thronged Oshodi Business Unit and Egbeda Undertaking of Ikeja Electric-Nigeria’s largest power distribution company. The residents who came to participate in the free medical outreach organized by Ikeja Electric in partnership with XT Monitor and US Medical Mission Group, responded to the call to come for free treatment of diabetes, hypertension and other non-communicable diseases. Ikeja Electric, XT Monitor Organises Medical Outreach For Lagos Communities

 

Lagos Nigeria; October 6, 2017: Ikeja Electric Plc (IE), Nigeria’s largest Electricity Distribution Company has collaborated with one of its business partners, XT Monitor Ltd, to organize a medical outreach for communities within its network, in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives.

The activity, which is slated for the 9th and 10th of October, 2017, will hold at the IE’s Oshodi Model Business Unit located along Okota Road and the Egbeda Undertaking Office, located on Idimu Road, by Alaguntan Bus Stop, respectively. (more…)

Ikeja Electric Holds Safety Sensitization in Primary Schools to Mark Children’s Day

Leading Nigerian Electricity Distribution Company, Ikeja Electric (IE) has joined the nation at large to commemorate the 2017 Children’s Day, by visiting several primary schools within its network to create awareness on electricity safety.

As a socially responsible corporate entity, Ikeja Electric identified the need to teach kids from an early age, the importance of safety with regards to electrical equipment and appliances and chose the Children’s Day celebration as a platform to do so. Speaking on the initiative, the company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Felix Ofulue, noted that “habits you pick as a child tend to stick with you through life, as such by teaching the kids how to maintain their safety around electricity, they are learning important life-long safety skills”. Ikeja Electric Donates Mosquito Nets To Mark World Malaria Day

Determined to combat the dreaded disease, which is prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa, Ikeja Electric partnered with frontline Health Management Organization, Hygeia HMO Limited, to donate the Malaria prevention items to residents of Olambe, Igando, Ilaje-Bariga, Ijede, Oke-ira and Aboru communities of Lagos State.
