The attention of Management of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) has been drawn to the activities of some former Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company staff that have allegedly been extorting money from members of the public under the guise of receiving contributions towards the repairs of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company equipment and purchase of pre-paid meters.
For the avoidance of doubt, no one including current and past PHCN or Ikeja Electric staff is authorized to make such demands. We urge members of the public to rebuff these impostors and report such cases via email to: customercare@ikejaelectric.com, the nearest Ikeja Electric office or send text messages to the telephone numbers listed below.
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company Management warns that it is a criminal offence for unauthorized persons to tamper with any of its equipment or installations. Whilst we are partnering with relevant authorities to ensure that the issue of vandalism, sabotage and theft is addressed, we will stop at nothing to ensure that defaulters are duly prosecuted.
We wish to state that Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company remains solely responsible for the supply, repair and replacement of its equipment. We have since commenced customer education campaigns aimed at creating awareness of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and encouraging customer involvement in ensuring the success of the Power Reforms.
Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company is currently upgrading its Customer Care Centre across its Business Units to ensure improved responses to customer complaints.
Whilst we are working hard to review, repair and upgrade our infrastructure, we wish to use this medium to inform all our esteemed customers that the current power interruption being experienced is due to the short fall of gas supply, grid limitations and sabotage of the system. The company is doing all it can to ensure that the allocated power is equitably distributed amongst our esteemed customers.
